Was it...

Personal note:  Was it really her I saw today or just my imagination?  Damn...

I saw Full Metal Alchemist 3 today, I'll write up a review tomorrow after I get back from college.  It was a very good episode.   ^_^

More anime stuff thought today.

With Naruto 54 came a new opening.  The opening is the worst of three, but I think I'll grow to like it somewhat.  I also don't mind them changing the story a bit to prolong the anime.  By doing this they can make it so it will be a while before they catch up to the manga, and I think that's a very good thing.  I love the new ending.  Chibi-marching-Sakura is very cute.  ^_^

I kind of understand Tsukihime now that vampires were revealed to be a big part of the storyline.

Gunslinger Girl 2 helped further some character development.  Not much else though.

One Piece is so good.  ^_^

When I read that Heat Guy J is heading to MTV, I was really surprised.  Hopefully, MTV will pick up some other anime as it will be the only cable channel, that I receive, that will have any anime on it.

I saw a new trailer for FFVII: Advent Children today.  It was an amazing trailer.  It's sucks to think that there's only going to be 60 minutes of it.

Back to Naruto, there has been lots of talk about Naruto and how some company would butcher it.  First of all, Naruto is backed by Bandai in Japan.  Therefore, it is most likely that Bandai will be the one who will license it.  Second,  Bandai has done good dubs lately; so I'm not worried at all about their dub of it.  Onegai Teacher and Witch Hunter Robin were both dubbed very well by Bandai.  This anime does scream merchandising so I do think it will be on tv.  I just hope that anyone but Cartoon Network picks it up.

Last note for the night:  TokyoPop has apparently announced that they are having an Initial D game coming out for PC in early 2004.  ^_^

Gaara!
Posted By: Shoju on October 14, 2003 11:45 P.M. (PST)

I got my order from Animenation today.  In the box was a Cowboy Bebop Dragon Syndicate t-shirt, Sakura plush, and Gaara plush.  My plush collection is now up to a measly 6.  Exlcluding the ones I got today, I also have a Sakura Haruno plush from the first Naurto set of plushies, a Yumi from Chobits, Vivi from FFIX, and a gruntie from .hack//Sign.  Next on my plushie hit list is Nami from One Piece.  I really can't believe that it took me this long to get into One Piece.

I got my A+ certification in the mail today!  ^_^
Win2k Server/Pro is next for me.

I have a new AIM SN:
[--The Jiraiya--]
Note: don't include the brackets and hyphens.  I think that having my SN on this website contributed to the massive amount of porn IMs I get; so I'm seeing if putting stuff around the SN will stop the porn spam.

Anime updates
Posted By: Shoju on October 13, 2003 10:45 P.M. (PST)

I've watched almost all of the October sweep Anime now.

I'll start with Gunslinger Girl.  It's really a unique premise.  Some organization uses little girls as assassains.  Each partnered with an adult.  Not much of a plot that I can remember right now, but it looks very promising.

Tsukihime is amazing because I have no idea what's going on, but I want to find out.  A guy named Tohno moves back with his sister.  During the day, he gets sick and goes home early.  He goes to some park and it seems as if he has killed some girl.  Later he wakes up back at his family's estate.  He thinks it might have been a dream as he finds out that he was passed out in that park, but no one else was there.  Some other stuff happens and at the end, that girl that it seemed like he killed comes back and tells him to take responsibility for killing her.  That left me with a: O_O!

Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi was just as I expected.  Even without the subs.  I watched the raw provided by Saiyaman and I can't wait for it to be subbed.

Peace Maker was the most surprising of all of these anime.  It is set in the same time as the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs with the Shinsengumi as a big part of the story.  Tetsu, a young boy who want joing the Shinsengumi to avenge his father.  A playful Okita decides to allow the young boy to take a test and fight against him.  Okita fights him seriously and is stopped by Hijikata.  Hijikata later shows what the Shinsengumi is really about when Tetsu is able to witness Hijikata take out a bunch of men and a woman.  Even after seeing the bloodshed, Tetsu still wants to be part of the Shinsengumi.  The amount of blood that was used at the end really surprised me, and I just love it.  Just like when Samurai Deeper Kyo aired, Peace Maker has its own moronic people who say it's a rip-off of Kenshin.  Kenshin fanboys can go to hell with other pathetic fanboys.

Chrno Crusade is the last anime I'm waiting to see.

Kill!
Posted By: Shoju on October 11, 2003 1:40 A.M. (PST)

When I first saw the trailer for Kill Bill, I had mixed feelings about this movie.  I saw Uma with a sword and was like "O_o?"  Then I kept hearing about it and then I read, on AnimeNewNetwork, that Production I.G. had done a scene in it.  So a bunch of things lead me to want to watch this thing very badly.  Last night, I looked up the movie times and found the earliest showing I could get to right after I got out of class.  So after class, I go grab some In-N-Out and head over to Edwards for a 12:15 showing.  Since all we usually do on Fridays is take a test and then leave, I knew I could make this first showing.  After Black Mamba killed Copperhead in front of her daughter, the movie had me hooked.  When they started doing the whole Cottonmouth part of the story, it just went straight to super-kick-ass.  Conlusion: Kill Bill = Best. Movie. Ever.

Now what I still don't get is why a movie like Kill Bill can be made and released in America, but none of the companies want Battle Royale to be imported.

I amazingly got One Piece 36 and 37 off of Kazaa.  With those episodes, One Piece was able to raise up all the way past Naruto, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, D.N.Angel, Kiddy Grade, Saikano, and Noir to get the #8 spot, just under Evangelion.  I want Nami merchandise now!  ^_^

I'll be posting my thoughts on Gunslinger Girl tomorrow.  My download just finished, but I need to catch some sleep.

Blah!

Saw a bunch of stuff today.

I'll begin with Naruto 53.  From here, the anime veers off the manga and does its own thing.  It was probably done to squeeze a few more episodes out.  I hardly understand Japanese, but from what I could tell, Jiraiya felt more like a father figure to Naruto sooner than later as in the manga.  I don't mind the changes at all, and enjoyed the episode very much.  This is the episode I've been waiting to see because one of my favorite scenes in the manga takes place:  Naruto using Harem-no-jutsu on Jiraiya.  ^_^

Onegai Twins 11 was downright amazing.  Karen found out and grew stronger as a person.  She was able to tell Maiku and Miina, but then the title of the last episode came up.  It said "Three Twins."  I was like O_O!  Someone at GameFAQs posted a link that showed that picture with Maiku and a girl but it also had the same picture with an extension that showed what could clearly be seen as Karen.  Therefore, the person in the pool with Maiku was Miina and Karen was off to the side.  If there is no other plot twist, then that means they're all related and I don't think any of them can get any action.  Now that really sucks!  I really hope that one of them isn't really related at all.

Gungrave 1 was pretty much what I expected after seeing the preview for it.  It gets 8/10 from me.  The action reminds so much of Hellsing, and that's a good thing.  ^_^

Anime-Otaku surprised me with their release of a subbed version of the live-action Sailor Moon series.  I had seen that it was available on Saiyaman's site, but I decided against getting it.  I have seen a few pics of the girls they chose as the Sailor Scouts.  When A-O released it, I decided to see if it's any good.  The transformation is a lot cheesier than the anime's, but other than that, I thought it was pretty good.  I'm also very happy with the actress they decided on to take the role of Rei.  ^_^

At the moment, Gary Coleman is has about .2% of the votes.  My number 2 man, the Governator himself, did win.  I won't be making one of those stupid Arnold jokes.  There are enough of them out on message boards and in the news.

I saw the preview of Gun Grave after I updated last night.  It looks like it copied the feeling of Hellsing.  I expect good things from this anime too.

I watched a few more episodes of One Piece a few days ago and got up to 35.  Now, I'm left on a huge cliffhanger and I'm desperately looking for 36+.  Kazaa has been no help, and Direct Connect won't run.  I liked Nami when I first saw her, and the last few episodes I watched have watched only strengthened it.

Ikkitousen seems like it's on a speed-trip.  It's a very weird anime, but I find it enjoyable.

I find it funny that I've been quoted outside my own site.  I decided to do a search on Google for any new sites about Shoju Bayushi a few days ago.  The results came up and I found Shoju Bayushi II.  I thought someone might have gave me some criticism or something, but on the two links that had my name, it was one of my quotes.  Both sites used the same one too:
"The truth is as powerful as lies.  The truth can hurt, can be nice, but above all else, must be accepted."

One link was to some girl's site.  The other was to some message board where one of the users used my quote in his signature.  ^_^

Full Metal Alchemist
Posted By: Shoju on October 6, 2003 10:40 P.M. (PST)

October sweep anime has turned out one jewel so far.

Full Metal Alchemist has wowed me. So much in fact, that I made a review for the first episode.
Avenger was interesting.
Gilgamesh doesn't have much of a hold on me right now.

I'm just waiting on 5 other animes to be subbed now.

Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi - I find it hard to screw this anime up; so I know I'll like it.
Gunslinger Girl, Chrno Crusade, Tsukihime, and Peace Maker are up in the air with Avenger and Gilgamesh right now.

Oh yea, something I forgot to mention was that I am now A+ certified.  ^_^

Ayumi-sama's b-day!
Posted By: Shoju on October 1, 2003 8:40 P.M. (PST)

Last year, I forgot that about Japan's time zone difference and said it one day late.  This year, I correct my mistake.  I wish her another successful year, and a happy life.

Once again, happy birthday Ayumi-sama!! ^_^

In other news, Jiraiya showed up in Naruto 52!  I have to get used to hearing him talk and move now.  ^_^

>_>
<_<
I don't really know why, but I ended up buying 2Fast 2Furious yesterday.

Oh yea, Pioneer's name change was weird.  I prefer Pioneer, but Geneon is okay too.  Now, I just have to know how to pronounce it...

Well, there are 2 episodes left in Onegai Twins.  I wondered how the hell they would finish Onegai Teacher after I watched episode 11.  I look forward to the end of Onegai Twins.  It may or may not earn a permanent spot at #4.
