Battle 13 - Sora vs. Aeris Gainsborough (Aerith)

Sora was nervous as he waited to be announced.  Sora had met Aerith in Traverse Town.  To him, she was a very kind and gentle person.  He really didn't want to fight her.  Before their match, Aerith had assured him that this was all for fun.  In the back of his mind, though, he wanted to win.  He was sure that Kairi was going to watch his match back at Destiny Islands.  It would be the first time she saw him since the doors to the worlds had closed.  So for his first battle he had two key chains with him, the Oathkeeper and Oblivion.  Only the Oathkeeper would be equipped.  Oblivion would be used as a last resort.

Aerith was just as nervous in the other waiting room.  She gripped her Princess Guard tight as she re-checked her materia set-up.  This year, Cloud and her were in the same block.  Part of her wanted to meet him in their block's final match.

Finally, Sora and Aerith were announced.  The crowd cheered for both competitors.  In a skybox, Squall, Tidus, and Cloud watched over them.

"The terrain for this battle will be...Lonely, Silent, Great Seal field in The World," CJayC announced.

Aerith and Sora looked at each other and smiled.  Sora put the Oathkeeper keychain on the Keyblade and Aerith readied her Princess Guard.  Sora jumped into the air and glided towards Aerith.  She casted Big Guard on herself and Fire 3 on Sora.  Sora dropped to the ground as he put up the Oathkeeper to guard against the magic.  Aerith rushed at Sora and lunged her staff at him.  Sora rolled away, jumped, and glided away from Aerith.

Sora landed and looked back, but he didn't see Aerith anywhere.  He spun around looking to find her hidden somewhere.  Then he saw the ground on the other side spilt apart.  Aerith had summoned Ifrit.  Sora backed up a bit and quickly summoned his own helper.

Out of the sky, Dumbo flew down and Sora got on him.  Ifrit and Dumbo charged at each other.  Dumbo sprayed water at Ifrit as it charged while Sora readied to strike him as he passed.  Ifrit's flames were almost completely washed by the time he was in range.  Sora swung the Oathkeeper and tore his chest open.  Ifrit and Dumbo disappeared as Aerith came back.  Sora rushed at her and swung the Oathkeeper.  The keyblade connected with her left shoulder, and Sora quickly followed it up with another two hits on the right shoulder and stomach area.  Sora had just enough MP to use his Strike Raid ability.  He used it and hurled the Oathkeeper at her.

Aerith smashed into a statue and was nearly unconscious.  In the skybox, the guys didn't know if they should be happy for Sora.  Cloud knew that she had one last trump card to play in this battle and was waiting to see if she would use it now.

Aerith leaned onto her staff to stand up.  She could see Sora was determined to win this fight.  Sora switched key chains and equipped the Oblivion.

"I have to end this..." Sora said sympathetically and charged at Aerith for one last strike.  Aerith smiled at him as she was suddenly surrounded my a white light.  Sora halted his attack as he watched a little angel come down and restore Aerith's health.  Aerith had used her Level 4 limit break, the Great Gospel.  Cloud's hands were hiding his facial expressions, and he was smiling underneath his hands.  She was now invulnerable for the time being.

Sora regained his senses and charged again.  Aerith began casting her best magic, Ultima.

"This is for you, Kairi!"
"This is for you, Cloud!"

Both of them put their soul into their final attacks.  When Sora tried to strike at Aerith, he was blown back.  The last thing he saw was a green light coming at him.  Sora was knocked out.  Aerith walked over to him and casted Full Cure.  His wounds healed, but his body was still exhausted.  Aerith dragged him against a wall and sat next to him.  They slept until the battle time was over.

15 hours later.

"The winner is Aerith!" CJayC announced.

This one took a little while to write because I tried my best to make it not suck too bad.
