Battle 61 - Link vs. Cloud Strife
"For the Semi-finals, the bags
will no longer be available. Only what they have brought here to the
battles will be allowed."
Both fighters rose to the arena.
Link thought this would be easy.
Last year Mario beat this pathetic loser. How could he lose. Link
readied his Master Sword and looked over at Cloud. He was smiling.
Link saw that he did not bring his Ultima Weapon, but instead he was now
wielding his weakest weapon. The Buster Sword.
Cloud saw that Link was mad at Cloud's
choice of weapon. Link wouldn't have a chance against Cloud right now.
Link started the battle by letting
loose a few flaming arrows. Cloud casted Reflect, and the arrows were sent
right back at Link. Cloud drank a Hyper and attacked Link. Link held
up his shield to block the huge sword. Link saw a slight opening and
lunged his sword into Cloud's left arm. The sword was pushed aside by the
last of the Reflect spell. Link's body was totally exposed and Cloud
executed an upwards slash on his chest. Link lit a bomb and dropped it at
Cloud's feet as he flew back from the force of the cut.
Cloud saw the bomb, but he was too
slow at getting away from it. The blast burned his lower legs. The
Hyper reacted to this blast and filled up Cloud's rage meter. Cloud
quickly used his ultimate attack, the Omni-Slash.
One second Cloud was visible, the
next, he totally vanished and Link felt his body getting cut up severely.
Link's body could no longer stand, but it stood still by the force of each
blow. Finally, Link dropped to his knees and saw Cloud in the air.
Cloud put all his strength into the last strike and cut Link into two pieces.
"LINK CANNOT CONTINUE!
CLOUD ADVANCES TO THE FINALS!"
